Independent and intellectual thoughts ranging from China, SEO, and other international topics

Back in 2004 when I was at a Model United Nations conference up in Montreal (McGill Model UN) I was on a committee acting out as the Chinese Politburo during the closed-door secret conference choosing who would be a successor to Hu Jintao. Now, I don’t know why they allowed us delegates to have a chance of technically “running” the committee by allowing the President to be a delegate rather than the administrator, but nonetheless I got to take over as President and had to deal with a war with the United States and a lackluster Japan.
Suffice it to say, with my tech nerdiness, I insisted on launching cyber attacks on the US to cripple its system (since they were running Windows and we were running ‘Red Linux.’ Of course, the administrators had no concept of technology (not surprising really, few understand cyber attacks or potentials there outside of the tech hubs) and even stupidly stated that China would not be able to hack into the US system and to drop the topic. READ: I don’t know jack about technology or the Internet and don’t want to prepare the committee on those topics so stfu on that.
Lo’ and Behold here’s some information on government sponsored cyber attacks from Slashdot:
“A new McAfee report finds that 120 countries, notably the United States and China, are regularly launching Web-based espionage campaigns. Government-sponsored cyber attacks against enemy countries are becoming more common, targeting critical systems including electricity, air traffic control, financial markets and government computer networks. This year, Russia allegedly attacked Estonian government news and bank servers, while China was accused of hacking into the Pentagon. A McAfee researcher says this trend will accelerate, noting ‘it’s easier to attack government X’s database than it is to nuke their troops.’”
Welcome to the 21st Century.

Trying Google’s Translation function here:
